Why Does the Bot Pause, Become Restricted, or Stop Placing New Trades?

Learn about the normal reasons why the system does not place orders immediately, as well as what the different security statuses mean.

Continuous operation does not mean continuous order placement.

The bot continuously monitors market and account conditions, but will only execute trades when all of the following criteria are met: direction, strategy, available funds, risk limit, order assignment, data freshness, and exchange status. Remaining on standby when no suitable opportunities arise is part of the rules.

02

Four Security Conclusions

The "Running" status displayed on the page merely indicates the process status; the final decision on whether to allow new risk exposure is determined by the unified security assessment.

  • Normal: Evidence is complete, reconciliation has passed, and existing positions are protected; you can determine whether to initiate new trades based on your strategy.
  • Restricted: Continue managing existing risks, but temporarily prohibit taking on new risks.
  • Stop: If an explicit conflict or dangerous condition is detected, stop to prevent further escalation of risk.
  • Unknown: Key facts cannot be verified; no new risks will be added until verification is restored.
03

Common Reasons for Delays or Restrictions

The system will not lower security requirements simply to display orders on the page. The status will only be restored once the cause has been resolved and the verification process has been completed again.

  • Market data or exchange-specific data is outdated, cannot be retrieved, or is inconsistent
  • API permissions, account mode, position mode, or fund verification are incomplete
  • Risk assessment, service eligibility, available funds, or risk limit requirements are not met
  • Regular orders, conditional orders, executed trades, or open positions are currently being reconciled
  • The system is shutting down safely, undergoing an upgrade, or recovering.

To determine whether a trading bot is functioning properly, you cannot rely solely on whether or not there are orders.

A properly functioning trading bot spends most of its time reading, comparing, and waiting. New positions are opened only when all conditions are met simultaneously; lowering these conditions merely to prove that the bot is “working” actually undermines the most critical discipline of a quantitative trading system.

"Restricted," "Suspended," and "Unknown" indicate different handling methods. "Restricted" typically means existing risks are being managed; "Suspended" corresponds to a clear security conflict; and "Unknown" indicates that key facts cannot be determined at this time. Customers should review the specific reasons provided on the page rather than attempting to mask the status by repeatedly restarting the system.

After reading this, what should customers be able to do?

Truly understanding a knowledge article isn’t about memorizing a few terms, but about being able to make the right decisions based on actual page content and account status. Use the checklist below to verify whether you’ve grasped the key points.

  • First, check the security status and the specific reason
  • Verify exchanges, APIs, funds, and service eligibility
  • Waiting for reconciliation or data recovery to complete
  • If your account status remains unresolved for an extended period, please contact customer service with the time and a screenshot.

Frequently Asked Questions

These questions are directly related to the content of this article. Answers are based on current platform rules and actual operational standards; however, when it comes to packages, percentages, the scope of available features, or account status, the information displayed on the customer dashboard and official statements shall prevail.

  • What do the statuses “Normal,” “Restricted,” “Paused,” and “Unknown” mean? | “Normal” indicates that all evidence is complete and new trades can be evaluated according to the strategy; “Restricted” means existing risks will continue to be managed but no new risks will be taken; “Paused” indicates a clear security conflict; “Unknown” means key facts cannot be confirmed at this time. The conditions for the latter three statuses will not be relaxed to generate orders.
  • What happens during exchange maintenance, network issues, or API read failures? | The system will treat missing data as unknown, prohibit the addition of new risks, and continue to protect and reconcile existing risks to the extent possible. A read failure is not interpreted as “no positions or orders”; after service is restored, the data must be re-read and reconciliation completed.
  • The bot has been launched, but why hasn’t it placed any orders yet? | Launching the bot simply means it has begun monitoring and checking conditions; it does not guarantee an immediate trade. Market direction, strategy conditions, fees, slippage, available funds, risk limits, data integrity, and exchange-specific factors must all be met simultaneously. It is normal for the bot to remain in a waiting state when conditions are not suitable.
